ramona is pretty nervous to welcome a new name to her ever-growing happy family. in fact, its actually an old band member. christian beisswenger alias cb funk alias one half of arto mwambe is not exactly one you would call a stranger. for >77 reasons< he debuts as the citizens band with some novel sounds on risky grounds. in love with details, fragile sounds, little tricks and with a fine ear for the action, the band leader tiptoes into deep bleepy house just enough to call >west 42nd< exactly that. >77 reasons< however plays around with a memorable little melody, a skanking lead and some boom sonics. whatever you want to call it, ramona is fine with it. orson and kane would be proud.

after the huge succes of its tenth release (davide squillace & guti), hideout is back with with the third slice of the deconstruction revisited series. this time, crocodile tears, which appeared on davide squillaces tutti frutti ep (ho003) got offered three amazing relectures. it all starts with mr robert dietz (cadenza, cecille ...), who delivers a super modern and energetic relecture, where intelligent synthetic percussions mess around with weird noises and processed effects. after two minutes a monophonic synths starts its battle with vocals from squillaces original to end up on a more minimal groove. gflame aka portugese techno start cisco ferreiras (the advent) relecture directly sets the tone: a nasty bassline with a crazy synth stab flies over a soft but very heavy techno beat, to evolve to an elegant tech house track (no bongos involved). finally sis, the man behind cocolino imprint, reinterpretation starts with a long intro with the kick dropping after more than 3 minutes. the melancholic feeling of the track builds into a very subtile beat with reverbered elements all over. the percussion layers and delicate melodic synths add some organic flavour to the music so the 14 minutes remix is never boring and takes you to a nice journey thru sounds. you can tell somebody was in love when making such a beautiful song. another must have from hideout!

after growing up in a record store, facilitating to develop the sound of mos ferry prod. and launching his own label clap your hands marcel knopf is big in business now! so it was time to spent some hours in the studio again in between all his touring through germany. and up it goes! with the club smasher command knopf blows some ears away and leaves the crowd in disbelief. aint love joins the dancefloor as well as it is the typical knopf-alike oldschool frickel-house. the digital bonus track sacritool represents his sound orientation on clap your hands - modern, tooly deephouse!

west - african music from the golden era. terenga beat is out of senegal. check tracks like massane cisse, tioro baye thierno simply beautiful!teranga beat is a new record label based in senegal. the aim of the label is to highlight some of the recordings made in the golden era of the senegalese, and more generally, west african music, produced from the late 60s.

a return to vr from ben sun, who delves into deeper territory on the original cut, emotive analogue synths washing over a roland drum groove and a swirling female vocal, all underpinned by a warm, rumbling bassline. the flipside features some heavyweight remix work from the prolific deep space orchestra (use of weapons, art, delusions of grandeur) and label mate tyson ballard teaming up with vincenzo (poker flat, dessous). vincenzo and ballards mix is a heavy hitting, moody take on the original, with subtle, dark strings and a growling, evolving bassline, while dso round off the release with trademark fat drums and soaring melodic synth work.

a shiny picture disco for slow motion records release number 7 - disco wizard by francisco from jolly music. beamed from distant satellites via 1983 and picked up by a crack team of berlin based italian disco commandoes, the disco wizard brings to mind space, the tougher end of pre-84 italo, guys with beards and grace jones and amanda lear dancing the night away. a nagging baseline propels the track forward with alternating male and female vocals that coo and tease, whilst twinkling refrain evokes the giogio morders classic >the chase<. on the flip side the dub mix strips away most of the vocals and injects some serious strut into the beats. the rougher, tougher cousin of the original to send the boys and girls wild with cosmic desire. you have been warned.

part 1 is a oldschool jackin house track with some minimal touch. a peculiar bassline, some good hi-hats and hypnotic vocals. danceflloor bomb! part 2 is a deeper mix of part 1, based on the same bassline. it has a slower groove and a softer kick. amazing second chapter for the supercharged story. nuit blanche is a down tempo track full of surprises. totally killer!

patrn066 is an excellent blend of funky and raw techno. this 4 track counting ep covers all the sides of the pattern sounds. with disco influenced loops combined with steady banging drums. iago de la vega delivers some excellent productions on this one. also his track with raul mezcolanza (b1) contains that true sampled techno vibe. one for the collection.

rhein-main based tag team diggler & franksen go back some way in the history of frankfurts electronic scene. around 2000 diggler honed his reputation as a master of dubby techno for a whole decade. his early tracks like >boogiemonster< are blueprints of cool. period. today he is still rollin out crisp and deep techhouse beats that combine musical finesse, compositional tension and club appeal. having released about six albums and countless tracks and remixes for labels from raum…musik to cocoon and from resopal to level non zero, diggler is still on the hunt for the proper dose of beat hypnosis.

somewhere over western europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous banana shaped smoke cloud. frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see, he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called >laughing at clouds< – which seemed to draw a lot of attention. out of the studio window, frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. by the second drop leonard (the pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer melo seemed to pick up the transmission. while in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (affirmation) through the current, where frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made leonard pass out after all the summer stepping….

october and john osborn are proud to present the inaugural 12inch on their newly minted bristol and berlin based house & techno label: tanstaafl records. tanstaafl is an acronym for there aint no such thing as a free lunch. we kick things off with john osborns debut release, epoch 4 backed with a darker, reduced, dub-influenced version. john based in berlin worked with october in his bristol based studio to create and produce some wonderful, raw, dirty analogue house music. both tracks were meticulously produced by herr osborn and recorded and engineered by october. laurie appleblims joined the studio session and he dove straight into the juno 60 and played the melody that finnishes the track off. tough floor business for your feet and mind, tried and tested around the world. a great start for this promising label.

ultraschall is an homage to the first big techno club in munich. the owners of harry klein were part of the old ultraschall, which has a unique legendary status nowa¬days. the older generation in particular often long for the good old days. yes those times shouldnt be forgotten, especially not in terms of sound, but its also important to move on and attempt new things. like supporting vinyl, going to a who¬lefood shop or ending war. ok that might sound like a bro¬ken record, but how about spending less time on facebook and actually with your friends, cooking for your parents or organizing a break dance battle in your backyard? daniel takes us on a journey through the past and back to the future again. a charming mixture of laid-back grooves combined with some rough n ready rave moments make this a rapturous trip, no matter what time it is. track names are a really interesting element of music. some artists dont care about them at all and call their tracks a1 or something non-descript. yet many titles can be really funny, others made up words, and some corre¬spond to current events or times. some just really fit the sound. if you lose something, in general its a pretty nasty and unsettling feeling. but you have to deal with bad luck when it strikes. losing something can teach you an im¬portant lesson, or simply show you what it means to be unfortunate and down. not knowing the lows as well as the highs wont allow you to evaluate life very well. most important is to really feel and be yourself, despite the ups and downs.

its already about ten years since we started with our first vinyl releases in 2001 including music from plastique, telly quin and mr.clean, time is running and 3 more sublabels and about 35 vinyl releases later it is time to celebrate the first decade … we are looking back to a steady upgrowing music-development, successful parties, live performances and an upbuilding artist collective.the first part of the anniversary compilation presents a variation of different dub house tracks, several are more deep, others are more massy. some remembers to the 90s us house era. including music from dub taylor (eintakt, dirt crew), olivier girardot (ogmusic, arte), lohouse (talk dirty production) and fingers in the noise (deepindub) the eintakt 00 compilation is an unique peace of jewelry, diversified and also a versant device. second part of the anniversary (will come out in december) includes music from neal white, ghettozoid (bekeschus edit), reynold, gunnar hemmerling and telly quin. the 10 years eintakt anniversary vinyl compilation will be limited to 200 copies. feel good!
